This Lite-on DVD Drive is perfect for replacing or upgrading your Xbox 360 Drive. The Lite-on drive is the latest model used by Microsoft. All Xbox 360 drives carry stock firmware, in order for a new drive to work in your Xbox 360 the identifier key needs to be transferred from your old drive onto this drives firmware. Xbox 360 drives are not made separately from consoles and they can only be purchased from consoles split for parts. As these drives are from consoles manufactured between 2008 – 2010, you will not find a better drive available to purchase.

After receiving your “Lite-on Xbox 360 DVD Drive DG-16D2S (74850C)” the drive needs to be tested before the installation process is begun. This insures the drive is working correctly and has not been damaged during shipping. Any returns due to faulty drives will not be accepted if this process is not carried out before installation. Any drives damaged during the installation will also not be accepted for return.

Open the tray and insert a working music CD. If the CD plays the drive is working correctly and is ready for installation. Please Note Important : “Open Tray” error ". To stop this error Before you do any flashing to the drive just simply unplug the laser ribbon cable from the main laser unit. Then proceed to flash your lite-on as you normally would. Once finished replace the laser ribbon back into the ribbon connector.

Please Note:
It is not possible to take out your old drive and just install this new drive without flashing your old drive key into your new drives firmware, if you do you will get an Error 66 message.With all 360 drives you need to extract the dvd key from your old drives dumped firmware and then insert it into your new drives firmware. jungleflasher is a great app for this. you may also need to spoof your drive if you are not replacing a drive with the exact same brand/model,this is not a simple procedure and should only be preformed by a person who has the knowledge and experience with this procedure or you could end up loosing your dvd drive key and end up with a bricked console.
