WiiKey 2 is now on the market and these chips are brought to us from the same team behind the original WiiKey,d2ckey and the D2pro, so you know these will be a quality chip with great support. These chips have been designed to hit the mainstream market with a great price and full features, if you’re in the market for a chip for your Wii console, the Solderless WiiKey 2 is one of the best options out there. These chips are compatible with all Wii consoles but come in two different versions, one for D2C / D2C2 & D2E drive types and one for DMS & D2B drives, make sure to use the Wii serial checker link provided at the bottom of this page to determine which drive type you have so you can order the right version of this chip, there is a checkbox at the bottom of this page to select which drive type you have so we send you the right version of the chip you need for your console. Install of these chips is a breeze, the most difficult part of the job is taking the console apart, we have that covered for you with a detailed Wii disassembly video guide at the bottom of this page, as well as a install video for once you have disassembled the console. With a little patience and these videos at your disposal you will have your Wii modified in no time, note you will need a tri-wing screwdriver for the install which we sell in the service parts section.

The Solderless WiiKey 2 has flash upgrade support just like the previous model, the second config disk v1.1 is already on the official site and we are sure more will come. The one thing you can rely on with this team is that if there is any real major problem with compatibility that may arise from a new system update, new game released, the team will be sure to make a firmware update that will solve the problem. The config disk also has a many useful options you can enable or disable as you wish, you can enable the region patcher or audio fix, change the read speed for original games both single layer and dual layer from 6x to 3x, you can also individually change the read speed for single layer and dual layer backups from 6x to 3x, this feature can be handy if your drive is struggling to read some disks due scratches, or even if you’re using a slightly cheaper media slowing the read speed down makes them less likely to have problems reading trouble disks, being able to choose original or backup speeds individually is very handy as well we think.

Important Information:  if your wii is running 4.2 firmware you will not be able to play out of region games.
