Laser faults are a very common fault with the Nintendo Wii, due to the fragile nature of the wii's laser the slightest partical of dust or a dirty disc can cause the wii laser to produce disc read errors. Sometimes it is possible for the Wii to read the discs but it may crash, freeze or ask you to eject the disc during normal game play. you will need the laser replaced if you are having issues with your games not reading or if you keep getting disc read errors. We will replace your Wii's laser with an official Nintendo Replacement laser for you.
Book your console under this fault if you experience any or all of these symptoms:
- When the disc is inserted the Wii may seem to spin the disc, but an error message reading "unable to read the disc - Check the Wii operation manual for help troubleshooting" will appear on screen.
- The disc may play initially but an error message stating: An error has occurred. Press the Eject Button and remove the disc, then turn the Wii console off and refer to the Wii Operations Manual for help troubleshooting.
Please download our Product Repair Form and send it in with your wii.
If you can remove your wii's drive and you prefer to send the drive only to us for repair then this is fine, please do not post any cables as these are not required.
